Monal uses limited browser storage to keep your account secure, remember your preferences, and make the app work.
Effective September 7, 2026
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, can save information on your device. This policy uses "cookies" to refer to both where the distinction is not important.
2. How Monal uses them
- Authentication: keep you signed in, connect requests to your account, and refresh your session safely.
- Security: help prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized requests.
- Preferences: remember choices such as light or dark appearance on your device.
- Reliability: support essential application behavior and diagnose failures.
3. Essential storage
The cookies currently used by Monal are necessary to provide requested features, secure the Services, or remember a setting. We do not currently use advertising cookies or cookies for cross-site behavioral advertising.
4. Third-party services
Google may set or read its own cookies when you choose Google sign-in. Those cookies are controlled by Google and governed by its policies. A third party does not receive access to Monal's cookies merely because we use its service.
5. Your controls
Most browsers let you inspect, block, or delete cookies and site data. Blocking essential cookies may prevent you from signing in or using parts of Monal. Clearing local storage may reset preferences such as your selected appearance.
Browser controls vary, so consult your browser's help documentation for current instructions.
6. Changes and contact
If our use of cookies changes, we will update this policy and, where required, provide a choice before using non-essential cookies. Questions can be sent to privacy@monal.app.
